Operation Breaking Point: Emergency rescue of 100+ dogs and puppies in puppy mill raid

The Animal Rescue Corps Field Team deployed for an emergency rescue today on a puppy mill raid in Cheatham County, Tennessee. In response to an urgent request for help from local law enforcement, Animal Rescue Corps responded to ensure the safe extraction of every single dog and puppy on the property and to document cruelty for prosecution and ensure justice is served.

OPERATION BREAKING POINT

  • Date: July 9, 2025
  • Situation: Puppy Mill, Cruelty Case
  • Number: 100+ dogs and puppies
  • Priority: EMERGENCY

Upon arriving at the scene, the field team discovered the remains of at least one dog on site. High ammonia levels inside the home required rescuers to wear protective gear.

The dogs lived in extremely neglectful conditons, including several dogs found living in the property’s oven.

The surviving dogs. including Maltese, Havanese, Yorkies, “designer” mixes, and more, showed evidence of untreated infections, parasites, dehydration, and matting, along with parvo exposure, an especially dangerous risk with so many vulnerable newborns on site.
Dogs in critical condition were rushed from the property to an emergency veterinarian hospital.  All the other dogs were transported for recovery at ARC’s Rescue Center outside Gallatin, TN.

These dogs have spent their lives being bred, bought, sold, and treated like nothing more than commodities. But each one of the 100+ dogs rescued today is an individual deserving love, care, and a bright future.

With your help, their new lives begin now.

Each one of these animals will be relocated to ARC’s Rescue Center where they will receive much-needed medical and social care, as well as daily physical care and enrichment until they are ready to be placed within our network of vetted placement partners in high-adoption regions.

If you are in a position to help today with a donation to support ARC’s work, please do. Every donation makes a difference.

And, if you are in a position to volunteer, please sign up today. Opportunities are always available in ARC’s Rescue Center outside Nashville, TN, as well as sometimes nationally and beyond. We sometimes offer travel stipends.
