Fourteen cats abandoned at the holidays and in urgent need of emergency rescue

ARC’s Field Team deployed again yesterday, responding to an emergency rescue situation in rural Tennessee. Over a dozen cats were abandoned when a tenant was evicted. These sweet cats were in immediate need of veterinary care, food, warmth, and kindness. Local resources were insufficient to help this many animals in need all at once. But cases like this one are why ARC was founded: to help animals in large-scale crises with no other options.

These vulnerable cats were left behind in a house with no heat, no electricity, no care. The field team discovered windows were missing, and found the cats indoors, outside, even beneath the floors. Worse yet, ARC discovered that the house was scheduled to be demolished entirely in less than two weeks.

While much of the world entered the holiday season, these cats struggled to survive, still waiting for their family to come back home.

With your help, their new lives begin now.

Because of the urgency of this situation, ARC’s year-end matching challenge has been activated early. Two caring donors, Patricia and Jere, have each committed to match all donations, dollar for dollar, until a total of $55,000 is met or the new year arrives, whichever comes first.

Please donate now to help ARC reach this critical match and help the cats of Operation Winter Whiskers and animals like them start again.

And, if you are in a position to volunteer, please sign up today. Opportunities are always available in ARC’s Rescue Center outside Nashville, TN, as well as sometimes nationally and beyond. We sometimes offer travel stipends.
