ARC deployed to provide a lifeline for 8 surviving dogs, living surrounded by skulls
The ARC field team deployed today for a second emergency rescue this holiday week. This time, law enforcement in rural Tennessee reached out with a desperate plea for ARC to rescue 8 surviving dogs suffering in deplorable conditions. In August of 2024, the tenant in this case was charged with aggravated animal cruelty when the remains of multiple dead animals were found on his property. Additionally, his surviving dogs were living with inadequate food, water, shelter, and care.
Although he surrendered his dogs to the sheriff’s department, there was nowhere for the many neglected dogs to go. Law enforcement ordered that the tenant provide the dogs with food, water, and care while they desperately sought outside help to give these survivors the second chance they need. However, no one stepped up to help these dogs.
Frosty, pictured below, was just one of these dogs who was left longing for a better day.
Frosty survived in this untenable situation until ARC’s emergency rescue finally arrived. Now, Frosty and each of the other surviving dogs on the property will be transported to ARC’s Rescue Center. After their arrival, they will receive much-needed medical and social care, as well as daily physical care and enrichment. And, when they are ready, ARC will place them within our network of vetted placement partners in high-adoption regions.
Together, the ARC team and compassionate supporters like you can give Frosty and the rest the bright futures they have always deserved.
With your help, their new lives begin now. And right now, your donation can be matched through year-end until our $45,000 matching challenge is met.
Thanks to the generosity of Jere Hinman, Dunlap & Kyle Tire Co. and Gateway Tire Co., and an anonymous donor, your gift can do 2x the good right now. If you are in a position to help today with a donation to support ARC’s work, please do. Every donation makes a difference.
And, if you are in a position to volunteer, please sign up today. Opportunities are always available in ARC’s Rescue Center outside Nashville, TN, as well as sometimes nationally and beyond. We sometimes offer travel stipends.
How do I go about adopting a lonely sad but beautiful dog
Thank you for your interest and for choosing to adopt! Because of our focus on large-scale animal rescue, Animal Rescue Corps does not directly foster or adopt out the animals we rescue. As they are ready, we place the animals with pre-approved 501c3 non-profit placement partners where these animals will continue their journey to a loving home. You can see some of our placement partners here. https://animalrescuecorps.org/adopt/
We encourage those looking to add a new companion animal to their family to visit our partners’ pages and local shelters and rescues and consider all the currently available animals. You will need to follow all application procedures and policies of the shelters and rescues handling the adoption; animals may not be immediately available for adoption upon placement. Best of luck finding your new best friend, and thank you always for choosing adoption.
God bless you for doing the hardest work to save these innocent souls. Thank you. 🤍
You are a tremendous group of enlightened souls who are fulfilling your life’s purpose on earth by being the savior’s to those who have had no voice until you rescued them. Each story is more emotional than the one before, and there are many happy endings. One of your rescue stories was. I believe, in Florida but I could not locate it. The picture taken inside of the house you were called to showed so many small dogs in one room that looked like it had been photo-shopped. There were that many dogs, on furniture, tables, anywhere there was room, puppies and 1 tiny black kitten that someone named Hard. I think about Hard and wonder how it is doing-can someone please let me know? Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words! You are remembering Hardy, the kitten from Operation Harvest Moon (https://animalrescuecorps.org/dispatch/operation-harvest-moon/). Hardy was placed with our friends at Tails Humane in Illinois and has since been adopted into a loving home, and we couldn’t be happier!
